Jimmy & The Riddles needed a website that did more than just list their gigs… it needed to feel like the band: bold, energetic, and rooted in live music culture. As their official photographer, I already had a front-row seat to their identity, so, building a website that brought their vibe online was a natural next step.
They wanted a digital home that would:
Showcase their music and personality
Make it easy for fans to catch gigs
Offer a space to grow their audience and mailing list
- Increase bookings for festivals and venues
All video content was filmed by me on location at Hawkfest in Cranbrook, with the photography captured across the band’s 2023–2024 tour which gave the site an authentic, high-energy visual identity pulled straight from the stage.
The approach
The goal was to blend high-energy visuals with a no-fuss user experience. Something that looked great on mobile and made everything easy to access.
Design: A bold, stripped-back layout with reggae-infused colours and edge. I kept the aesthetic rough-around-the-edges (just like the band), letting photos and gig listings take centre stage.
Bold hero: To effectively capture the atmosphere, I used a recording of audience interaction as the hero video for the hompeage.
Content: All copy was written with the band’s tone of voice in mind… informal, punchy, and full of character.
Music integration: Their fan-favourites like Ganja Gun and Louie Louie were embedded front and centre to keep visitors grooving from the moment the page loads.
Photography: All imagery was shot by me over a series of live shows and festivals. These visuals brought an authentic, grassroots edge to the site.
