Creating A Vision For Your Business
The one thing I have found after working with many business owners is they don’t have a clear vision.
They don’t know where they want to be in 6 months, a year, 3 years and more..
If you don’t have a vision of what you want to achieve, how can you create a strategy to achieve it?
In this article I’m going to go over how to get a vision for your business as well as your Social Media presence (along with some exercises).
First up, let’s talk about your business vision.
What is the purpose of your business? Where do you want to be in 1 year, 2 years, 3 years and 4 years?
Define each year. What do you see in your imagination for your future? That, my friends, is a goal. It’s a dream. Work on it!
Don’t just think about it, write it down. Write down every detail. What kind of location are you in? What kind of clients are you attracting? What income have you got coming in? What turnover does your business have? How many employees? Keep track of exactly what your vision is.
I have found a guided meditation by Bob Proctor (below) which I have found really helps me to visualise exactly what I want.https://www.youtube.com/embed/lssNBHXz4Vw
One thing I have been recently adopting which seems to motivate me in producing more is 10Xing my goals (yes, from Grant Cardone). I have 10Xed where I want to take my business and I’m encouraging clients to do the same.
Once people get out of the tiny business mindset and into the SME mindset – it can seriously help you skyrocket your business.
Now onto the Social Media side of things-what do you want to achieve from Social Media? Sure, you may want to get 100,000 followers on your company page on Facebook, but why?
Is it to grow your digital presence?
Is it to make more sales?
Is it to connect with your customers?
Is it to engage your current customers?
Once you have a goal in place and a vision, you can then start developing a strategy for it.
One thing I like to do with my clients is get them to imagine what their presence could be like, what companies do they see as inspiration.. Try doing this now. What can you see for your business? Can you see videos, written content, colourful and quirky? Take note 🙂 There can be some awesome ideas come from this, if not it’s just a fun exercise of the imagination.
This is the start of your idea formation. Write down what you see and then cross out what wouldn’t match with your brand.
Both your business and social media vision can be created into a vision board – these are awesome visual tools especially if you have a team on board. This can help them to truly understand where you want to be.
Now you’ve got your vision, you need to develop a strategy to get your business to where you want it to be! You need a solid direction, otherwise you won’t know which way is up or down…
